Many with migraine visit A&Es

The Migraine Association has launched a new poster for A&E departments to aid health professionals in the diagnosis and effective treatment of migraine.

The poster is being launched as part of Migraine Action week, organised by the Migraine Association of Ireland, which is to take place from September 10 to 16.

A survey carried out by the Migraine Association has shown that 17% of respondents had visited an A&E department as a result of their migraine attacks.

The Association says migraine is still an extensively underdiagnosed and untreatred condition which can have a huge impact on the sufferer's quality of life.
